Painting for hospitals, clinics and medical offices

In a healthcare building, painting is never just painting. Patients and staff are present, infection-control rules apply, and some areas can never close. Top Coat plans healthcare work around the facility’s requirements first, and the paint schedule second.

Where we work

  • Medical office buildings and outpatient clinics
  • Hospital corridors, waiting areas and administrative space
  • Patient rooms and exam rooms, when released by the facility
  • Building exteriors and parking structures

Planned around infection control

Before work starts, we meet with your facilities and infection prevention teams. We plan the work to the facility’s infection control risk assessment (ICRA) requirements: containment, dust control, negative air where required, and cleaning at the end of each shift.

Minimizing disruption

  • After-hours, weekend and zone-by-zone schedules
  • Low-odor, low-VOC and zero-VOC products where patients are present
  • Clearly marked work zones and protected paths for patients and staff
  • Daily coordination with the facility contact on which areas are released

Coatings for clinical spaces

Healthcare surfaces take constant cleaning. We specify scrubbable and cleanable finishes, and the coating systems your specification calls for, from Sherwin-Williams, PPG or the manufacturer you name.

Documentation

You get product data and safety data sheets up front, daily progress reports, and a closeout package with the products, colors and locations used.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work in a building that never closes? Yes. We phase the work by zone and hand each area back before opening the next.

Will the paint odor bother patients? We use low- or zero-VOC products in occupied areas and plan ventilation with your facilities team.
